Default FDNY Memorial Service may be in November

I just read a short statement saying the unions and Department are looking into a November Memorial Service for all members lost.

No dates, times or locations but I will add to this thread as I get more news.

Worked the Night and Day tours. From what I gathered, a memorial service will take place after each and every firefighters family has faced their loved-ones mortality. Mid to late November is being looked at but the department will not rush any family into a decision, it is their's and their's alone.

Just to let everyone know, we'll put a full announcement up once an official statement comes out regarding any memorial service, as well as coordinating special travel and related information as possible.

    Thanks

There's nothing new to report on a date. I have heard the commish has commissioned a bronze statue of the three members raising the flag, no suprise there.

So, in the mean time, you guys can stop bumping this post up and I will post a date on a new thread ASAP. I will post any items I feel may be of interest here, if any are out there. Please understand, I cannot and will not post any information until it has been made public by the Department.

I have heard it may be a regional funeral due to the enormity of it. Possibly with a gathering of FFs at Toronto, Detroit, Miami, Los Angeles, etc. I have heard they may use a satellite feed. Wherever and whatever I know we will all be there.

We're closing the thread for now. We, like FDNY, dont want any 'rumors' going around about the memorial service.

When the official announcement is made, you can be sure it will be posted, as E229 said.

    Thanks
