I don't know if it is me or what, but it seems that there is an usually high number of fire stations catching fire this year. I dunno...maybe I just never noticed before.
Is there any statistics out there on this?

I would be interested in seeing the statistics, but I think we are running into the same situation as when the church fires became such a big thing in the press. Now that the media is more aware of the fire service, fire station fires are now something that the media deems worthy to print.
It could also have something to do with the fact that Firehouse.com is taking articles from around the country and consolidating them in one location.
It also points out that we need to practice what we preach when we talk about fire safety and arson prevention.Tom

Seems like they come in groups of 3 or 4, doesn't it?
You would think that somebody keeps statistics on station fires.
I'd like to know what percentage of fire stations have smoke detectors and sprinkler systems in them.Bryan Beall
