    Post FDNY Res1cue Special

CBS's news program "48 hours" is airing an episode dedicated to the fallen brothers of FDNY Res1cue this Friday, Dec 14th. This is the first I'd heard of it. Check your local listings I guess. For more info go to the Firehouse.Com home page.

    Thanks, I will.

I watched 48 hours tonight, and I thought that the segment on Rescue 1 was very well done. God bless the Fallen Heroes of the FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and those who died on 11 September 2001.

I couldn't stop crying. It was truly moving. I think 48 Hours did a spectacular job of truly representing the men of Res1cuE. The way they were able to use the footage from "The Brvest" showing these men before 9.11 was a great way to show how these men really lived and worked. They were the best of the best.

On another note, I felt that, while moving, the story of the man at the end who just happened to be in the building should have been for another episode. While I guess he could represent all that those guys were trying to save, I don't think his story had anything to do with Res1cuE at all. It seemed like the random placement of a story. Just my opinion.

All in all, a great show. I wish I would have taped it like I did the 48 Hours special of the W-6.

God bless those 11 men and the 332 others.

A tip of the Leather to CBS on a job well done. Very respectful and a fitting tribute to the FDNY Brothers.

It was much better than I expected, probably the best show yet. They kept out the politics and focused the story on the bravest.

The story of the civilian, who was burned in the tower lobby, graphically demonstrated the rapid spreading of the fire into the lower buildings as the jet fuel fell down the shafts.

CBS gets two thumbs up on this one!

Firehouse does too, for providing us these forums for communicating.

For those of us that did not know any of the members of FDNY, it is truly remarkable to see some of the faces and personalities that went with the names we've seen. It's still hard to believe that there are so many others, all with their own stories, families, goals, personalities, etc...

God Bless the members of FDNY and their families and friends.

I watched it also and it was facinating and erie all at the same time. My heart truly broke for Capt. Terry "Man"-Hatton.....never going to know about his unborn child.....I cried alot seeing that. And Joe Angelini........what a "legend" as described by his co-workers....I think he could probably rescue anyone anywhere anytime. Good job CBS !

    Great job CBS!!!

I was in Manhattan and visited RES1CUE a month before the attacks. The show brought back warm memories of that day, chatting with the men of RES1CUE, in addition to the other companies I visited.

    GOD BLESS THE FDNY!!!

    Question

I was unable to catch the special due to other family obligations. I checked with CBS about purchasing a copy of the video tape; however, they stated they are not distributing those due to copyright restrictions. I am hoping someone else was able to tape it and would be willing to make me a copy. I would be more than happy to pay postage and such. If anyone is interested please feel free to e-mail me at donh@spacecom.com

    Thank you and God Bless,
