    Could not find anything on this topic, so I am putting it here:

    Moving to NYC mid-Jan, need to rent a room, if anyone knows anyone, etc., please pass along my info. What's the best way to find a place, anyway?

    Best bet? Look in Jersey City or Hoboken. Directly across the Hudson River, much less expensive, and more available. Alot of mass transit to get you into NYC also.
