Thumbs up In honor of our brothers no longer with us...

In honor of our FDNY brothers(and sisters) no longer with us, I would like to propose a toast, with each forum member mentioning a number up to the loss: 347. Please follow my lead.

    1. Good work, brothers. You made us proud.

To all the brothers and sisters in fire, EMS, and police who lost their lives on 9/11/01: thank you for the gift of service you gave on that day and throughout your careers. Thank you for your example. We'll never stop praying for you and for all the loved ones you left behind. God speed.

To our brothers who gave everything for the job they loved.
To their loved ones who shared them with us.
To their children who will grow up without their Dad.
May the Lord Bless you all.

"I have no ambition in this world but one, and that is to be a fireman. The position may, in the eyes of some, appear to be a lowly one; but we who know the work which the fireman has to do believe that his is a noble calling... But above all, our proudest endeavor is to save the lives of men - the work of God himself. Under the impulse of such thoughts, the nobility of the occupation thrills us and stimulates us to deeds of daring, even of supreme sacrifice."

Our brothers lived these words written in 1910 by FDNY Chief of Department Edward F. Croker. May they rest in peace now, knowing that their shining example of selfless courage and supreme sacrifice will never be forgotten.
