Along the same lines someone anonymously sent a song into one of our area country stations. It is really a narration with the music of Silent Night playing in the background. No one has taken credit for it. It can be downloaded from the stations website. Very moving! The text has been circulating on the internet for a while now.

    Both songs are really good!

Tom Paxton has written a song called "The Bravest" in tribute to FDNY. It is written from the point of view of a civilian survivor. Here is the chorus:

Every time I try to sleep
    I'm haunted by the sound
Of fireman pounding up the stairs
    While we were running down

This really touched me. I was able to get a demo CD of it from his recording company.

    Thumbs up

I agree Maplewood. The first time that I heard it really hit hard. It is a great song.

    Captstan,
My understanding was that the song was performed at the CMA awads this year and might not be out on disc. I found it on Grokester and have burned it to disc. That might be the only way to get it but I'm not sure.
