I have recently been awarded the status of Honorary Lifetime Member of a Call Fire Dept. My question is: What is the Fire Service standard in reference to a badge when becoming this status. Should the badge be finished in gold or silver? I have heard conflicting reports. Any input or points in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks

I would say it would be up to the FD that made you a honorary member. The only people that wear gold in my FD are chief officers (chief or asst. chief) or Ex-chiefs. NO one else wears gold.
