We do, esp in odd situations where the vehicle is overturned or on its side. Allows us to lift the patient easier and make smoother transitions from the car to the board.
The opinions and views expressed herin are solely mine and not on the behalf of any department or organization I belong to.

We use our Half-Back for technical rescue. We use our KED for extrication. The KED costs a fraction of the LSP Half-Back. We also carry the Half-Back on a different rig and it is not readily available at most MVAs.
