The use of the guy wires/cables as part of the stabilization effort for this incident would never be my first choice. First, the fact that the third guy wire had snapped due to the pressure, what's to say that the two others would not do the same. Second, it is unknown how well the wires are still attached to the top of the pole. I feel that this approach does not provide adequate and safe stabilization. Possibly if the patient was needed to be rapidly extricated I may think about using the guy wires.
