    Question clearing a scene

Are their any hard and fast rules on clearing a false alarm scene. Besides the usual check the alarm panel, visual investigation. What other criteria does your department use to determine that their is definitly no fire before leaving an activated alarm scene.

Make sure you contact on-site personnel who have better knowledge of the premesis than you do. Hopefully they will have checked the area before you arrive and will be there for "fire watch" so to speak after you leave. If the alarm is after hours, we require a contact person from the facility to report to the scene and leave them "in charge" of it after we leave.
