Default SB AND FOG TIPS TOGETHER

This is for those who have sb and fogs pre-connected, for what coditions do you choose each and why?

Please no debates of which is better, just valid points of when and why you use each. we all know they both have there place in the fire service.

We carry both MST and Fog nozzles on the pumper but have no pre-connected lines other than the bumper line. The MST is used as our primary nozzle for attack mostly due to it's reach, penetration and effectiveness at low pressures. We do have a fog tip which we use for ventilation and car fires.

My dept uses nozzle called an Akron Assault break-away type. It has fog nozzle that can be unscrewed down to 1-1/2 threads so if you fall short with hose you can add on right there instead of shutting it down at the pump. It also breaks down to a 15/16 smoothbore. We don't use the smoothbore much but it's available if we need it. It's sort of a 3 in 1 thing. We have had good success with this pipe.

Smooth-bore or Vindicator for when you have a heavy fire load and the fire is visible from the exterior.

Combination nozzle for when you can't see the fire but have a heavy smoke condition visible from the exterior....ie; you gotta go FIND the fire!

Pulsing fire gases (smoke) is fun!
