Any chance that you could change the format for how you add a URL link to a post? It's much easier to copy and past the URL from another screen than to type it out and it also eliminates errors while typing. If you had an edit option in the URL box it would sure be handy....

Adding URL's to a Post

Simply cut and paste the URL into the Instant UBB Code box that comes up. After that type in a simple name for the link so it appears like this.
Click <a href="http://www.firehouse.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f =10&t=000225" target="_blank">here</a>
Or, you could just cut and paste the URL into the post, and it`ll come up as a link.
<a href="http://www.firehouse.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f =10&t=000225" target="_blank">http://www.firehouse.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f =10&t=000225</a>

Doing a cut and paste into the UBB code box is what I'm trying to accomplish. How do you do it? When the screen comes up it only gives the option to type the URL.

Just paste it right into the box, it`ll work. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

Still not understanding your message. When I click on the URL box in the Instant UBB code section a window opens that says "Explorer User Prompt". There are not optionsfor a cut and paste, you can only type the URL. That is what I'm trying to avoid doing. If you are able to somehow paste a URL into that box I can't figure it out! Help!

Ok now I see what the problem is.
1. Find the URL you want to insert. Highlight it, and RIGHT CLICK. In that little box that appears, hit COPY.<br />2. Now that it`s saved onto your computers clipboard, go ahead and click to reply to the thread.<br />3. Open the instant UBB Code Window, and RIGHT CLICK again, on the line where you are supposed to insert the URL. You`ll see the same window, one of the options will be PASTE. Hit that and you should be all set. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

Thanks a bunch BFD45! It appears that you have a talent for teaching old dogs new tricks...

Glad to help, I don`t think it`s a talent, just a lot of computer experience, and working at too many UBB`s. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">
