Good morning,this is Lt.Charles M.Huber, Lancaster City Bureau of Fire, reporting on another General Alarm Fire, to strike the city in a week and a half. At approximately 10:30 PM on 1/25/99 companies were dispatched to 313 W.Lemon St.for a reported structure fire, en rout county dispatched informed all companies they were receiving numerous calls for a working fire through the roof of a three story apartment house. On arrival they found the third floor apartment fully envolved.This was a row of six attached row homes with a common mansard roof with fire extending through the roof working it's way down the row. Capt. Amico struck a general alarm shortly after arrival calling back three of duty shifts. C Platoon which is my platoon was the last to be released at 5:15 AM on 1/26/99. The fire was held to three or four houses in the roof area with the apartment burnt out in the original building. No cause has been determined at this time it's still under investigation by the Penn.State Police Fire Marshall, I'll up date when more information is available.

Just to update the general alarm, The fire was ruled arson today by the State Police Fire Marshall. All accidental causes were eliminated. Tomorrow two arson dogs will be at the scene helping in the investigation. Damage was set at $200,000.00 and 30 people were displaced at the height of the fire. Some of those were able to return to their homes. 4 firefighters had minor injuries and were treated at the scene. Responding to the fire were E1, E2, E3, TRUCK1, TRUCK2, Reserve Engine 4. Also assisting were volunteers from Eden, Lancaster Twp, Rohrestown, Lafayette, and EMS from Manheim Twp Amb. Assoc.
