Crosby firefighters responded to a reported structure fire, CFD #812 Capt. Derek Elkins was first to arrive on scene and reported "Heavy smoke and fire coming from a 1 story brick single family dwelling." It took Crosby firefighters approximately 30 minutes to contain the blaze, using 3 pumpers and a rescue. Exposure on the sector 3 side received minor damage from radiant heat. Occupants were not home at time of fire, but returned while CFD still on scene, One of the homeowners had to be treated by EMS for anxiety. House completely lost. Dollar loss estimated at $65,000.00. Cause was ruled as an aquarium pump electrical cord. No mutual aid requested. CFD 812 was IC.
