At 11:47 on 2/14/99 Ridge was tone out for a structure fire, being Sunday morning we had a crew sitting in quarters so it was a quick response. Engine 3 first on scene reported smoke showing/fire in basement. Search performed by F/F Doug Foy. Lt. Jack House and Captain Ian Wood. Search produced a dog in distress, rescued by Capt. Wood, treated and transported by ambulance crew and Chief Campo (transported in chief's car, didn't want dolphin syndrome !) Good knockdown by attack line (F/F Morabito, Ex-Captain Bill Sagan and Lt Jim Chianese) Responding units: Engines 3, 1, 7, 9, Rescue Trucks 4 & 10, Chiefs 30, 31 &32, Ambulance 17. All units taken up by approx 13:00. Lucky homeowner, stated he was only 10 minutes away from leaving for the day when his daughter discovered the fire. The dog is doing fine, recovering at local vet.
Nice job all around.
