The Crozet Vol. Fire department, Crozet, VA, responded for an investigation of a large, unknown type fire at approximately 2 am, on 3-18-99 in the Greenwood area. Chief 50 was first on the scene and reported a large barn fully involved, a pickup truck fully involved and a large field fire that was spreading rapidly. Engine 54 from Crozet arrived, knocked down the field fire and began the attack on the truck and barn. Other units responding from Crozet were Brush 55, Tanker 57, and Engine 52. Mutual Aid was received from North Garden Vol. Fire Department with a tanker and a brush truck, and from Rockfish Valley with a tanker and a brush truck. Western Albemarle Rescue Squad also responded for the stand-by. There were no injuries. A loss value and cause are still under investigation by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal. Last units were in quarters at approxiamtely 5:45 a.m.
