At approximatly 4 P.M. a fire started in a warehouse in Brussels (Belgium). When the first firefighters started their attack, a second occupancy of the same building caught fire also, and caused a major explosion. Three firefighters were blown away and seriously injured, three others suffered minor injuries. A police officer was covered by one of the buildings walls. He was later found death. It took the fire department about two hous to control the fire with a lot of equipment and mutual aid from the fire department of Halle. Because of the possible poisonous smoke everybody in the neighbourhood was told to stay inside their houses and close all doors and windows.
The fire also caused huge traffic problems, since it was close to one of Brussels major highways.
