ROOF FIRE ON NORTHWEST LAS VEGAS HOME IS ACCIDENTAL

A fire on the roof of a large TEN OAKS community home has been ruled
accidental by Las Vegas Fire Investigators. The occupants of the home were
home when the fire started, both they and the roofers that were working on
the roof of the home, were not injured in the incident.
Las Vegas Firefighters were notified of the fire at 8:48AM, Monday
morning that the roof of a house at 7425 SILVER PALM COURT (Buffalo & Oakey)
was on fire. When they arrived on the scene, they found light smoke coming
from the roof, but only seconds after they arrived on the scene, flames
started to come through the roof. It only took firefighters a few minutes to
bring the fire under control, but to ensure the fire wouldn’t spread, they
had to rip a portion of the roof off the house where the roofers were
working. The fire damaged the roof, a portion of the attic and the living
room suffered water damage. The rest of the house was not damaged. Damage
was estimated at $65,000.
Roofers of DEAN ROOFING were repairing a leak on the roof of the
house. They had to use a torch to melt some of the roofing material. While
they working, they noticed smoke coming from the roof and tried to douse the
flames with a garden house, but the fire grew too large too fast. They then
called the fire department. The fire was ruled accidental.
There were no injuries in connection with the incident.
