The 100% paid-per-call fire department in Utica, Michigan hosted a second-alarm townhouse fire. Five units completely destroyed, but aggressive fireground actions saved another four attached units. The townhouses were wood frame construction, with a common attic. No civilian of Firefighter injuries resulted, despite the 90 degree temperatures, and the six hours of hard work at the scene.
