Commack, NY House Fire
6/23/99 1853 Hrs Commack FD responded to a telephone alarm of smoke in a home. Upon arrival 2nd Asst Chief Sanzeri found a large amount of smoke ejecting from the attic vents and transmitted the signal 35 (working fire) First due was 2-11-1 (tower ladder) 2 firefighters conducted the primary search while the officer went to the roof. First due Eng 2-11-4 streched a line to the second floor. The fire was confined to the attic with smoke and water damage throughout. Extensive overhaul of the attic took place after the under control was given at 1925 Hrs. One firefighter (Lt. Eng 4) was transported to St. Johns Hospital for smoke and was released that evening.
