070399 @ 1445 hours. Box 41,10th & Penn streets was transmitted for a reported building fire at 42 So. 10th st. Responding on the box were E1,13,3, Sn1,L1, R1, Medic 4, & chiefs 4 & 8. Companies arrived at 1447 and reported smoke showing from a 3 story boarding house. 1&3/4 inch handlines were deployed and the fire was brought under control at 1518. The fire caused $10,000 damage to the building and left 4 people homeless. Officials believe the fire was deliberatley set in a 1st floor hallway. No injuries were reported and an investigation is under way.
