At 2331 hours the Singerly Fire Co. of Elkton MD. was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a train on Elk Mills Road. Assictant Chief Don Hicks was on location confirming heavy ewscue of a single occupant of a pick up that was struck by a freight train. The truck was found to be dangling from a bridge over a an 80' ravine. The lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Extensive extrication involving a heavy wrecker was used to remove the vehicle from the bridge to extricate the body. Maryland State Police is investigating the accident along with Conrail police. Last unit cleared the scene at 0409 hours.
