Carlisle NY/Car brushes motorcycle
On Thursday, 08/04/1999 Carlisle Fire and Ambulance activated @17:30 for a motorcycle accident. Brush/Rescue 2051 responded only to be redirected out of Carlisle's district into neighboring Cobleskill Fire district. A single rider had been cut off and brushed a Gimmy Blazer at an intersection, which threw the rider onto the pavement. No head injury despite the rider's simple skull cap helmet. Compound fracture of right ankle below boot level was discovered once Carlisle Ambulance 2091 arrived on scene. ALS requested and County Paramedic 4801 responded. Later discussions with EMT staff indicated a complete fracture of the right ankle i.e it was completely broken off. First transported to Bassett Hospital Cobleskill but am sure he was transported further for more sophisticated Orthopedics at Bassett-Cooperstown. The riderless motorcycle had continued another 1000 feet down the road into a ditch. Carlise fire back in service 18:30, ambulance back @19:30.
