Coral Springs Muti-Alarm House Fire
Coral Springs, Florida
Fire destroyed a house on the Eagle Trace golf course(previous home of the Honda Classic golf tournament)late Wednesday afternoon, and a preliminary investigation revealed the fire was accidental.
Flames were shooting from the roof of the 2-story home, 6,000-square-foot home at 1900 Colonial Drive on arrival of the Coral Springs Fire Department shortly after 5:45 pm. The fire was brought under control about two hours later with assistance from four other departments, said Coral Springs Fire Lieutenant Don Petito.
No one was home during the blaze. The home was just purchased earlier in the week and renovations had just begun.Fire Investigators estimate the loss to be upwards of $700,000. Roof work was being done at the house and might be to blame for the fire, chief Bill Fyfe said
