FDJC Quickly Knocks Down 2 Alarm Fire
Jersey City, NJ (Hudson) On August 8, 1999 @ 2036hrs, A verbal alarm was reported to the quarters of Eng 22 & Trk 4, of a fire in a 3 stry frame at Stegman & Ocean Ave. Upon arrival it was reported that several people were trapped in the structure. Eng 22 requested the box and gave the report of possible people trapped including an envalid, Batt 2 requested a 2nd Alarm upon hearing this transmission. Eng 22 entered the structure with a 2 1/2 line and knocked down heavy fire which was encountered in the doorway of the second floor and started a primary search, which was negative. It was at this time it was learned that the occupants had escaped out of a back entrance of the home. The fire was under control within minutes of the 2nd Alarm being transmitted.
