Friday 08/13/1999 12:42PM Carlisle Rescue was toned for what could seem like a routine call. The patient's weight was estimated at around 700 lbs. Mutual aid for lifting assistance was requested from Cobleskill and Sharon Springs, along with Sharon Springs ambulance. Using a salvage tarp, a team of 14 strong men and women were able to remove(I noted this was an extrication!) and load this patient into Sharon Springs ambulance. This new Type III ambulance does not have hardware on the floor to secure the stretcher(it's recessed in their rig), allowing for an air mattress to be placed on the floor, and patient was placed on the air mattress.
