Jersey City, NJ (Hudson) On August 23, 1999 @ 1641hrs FDJC dispatched signal station 161 for a fire reported @ 399 Second St.while units were in route FDJC dispatch reported mutiple calls of people trapped and indicated they heard cries for help on one call. Upon arrival Eng 5 reported people trapped on the 3rd fl and requested a 2nd alarm. Ground latters were quickly used as electrical wires prevented the aerials use. Deputy 1 requested a additional truck and the fire was quickly extinquished. One Captain suffered a Heart Attack at the scene, he was quickly rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center were he suffered another Heart Attack. He is listed in critical but stable condition. FDJC's Fire Investigation Unit, found the origin of the fire was a floor company using polyurithane without turning off the hot water heater.
