Easton Fire units responded to a dwelling fire in the city's "Flats" section. Upon arrival units found a working fire to the outside of the structure extending into the roof. The blaze was contained with two handlines. Extensive damage was done to the exterior of the structure, as well as the attic and roof area. Fire fighters had the job contained in about 20 minutes. However additional manpower was recalled to duty to assist with overhaul and clean-up. Fire Marshal declared the fire an arson, and city code department declared the dwelling closed from use.
