Good Morning,

This is Cincinnati Fire District Chief Paul Weber reporting on a three-alarm fire which occurred shortly before 9:00 last evening at 889 Clinton Springs in North Avondale.

Engine Company 9, while returning to their quarters, discovered the fire. There were also multiple 911 calls. Engine 9 reported the structure heavily involved. The fire originated on the second floor of the three-story apartment building, and extended to the third floor before being brought under control. The occupant, Michal Shabad, was not home at the time of the fire, but her two children were in the apartment when the fire was discovered. Fire companies were on the scene for three hours. The cause is under investigation, and the damage is estimated at $100,000.

The Salvation Army and the Red Cross responded and assisted in relocating the seven adults and six children that were displaced. ****************************** ****************************** Fredrick A. Prather
