On Sunday, November 7.1999 at 11:00 hrs, Western Albemarle Rescue Squad
received a call for a MVA at Rt.250 west and Interstate 64 with one
entrapped. upon arrival, Ambulance 501 reported a total of five patients with
one in full arrest, one critically injured. Rescue Chief Jay Shivley
immediately called for UVA's Pegasus helicopter to respond. Pegasus
transported one elderly female, priority one to the University of Virginia
Medical Center. Rt.250 west was closed for several hours by Albemarle County
Police, until there
accident reconstruction team could investigate the incident. Units on the
scene were Western Albemarle rescue squad's Ambulance 501,503, Squad 505,
Zone Car 507, Crozet Vol. Fire Dept. Eng.54,Eng.56,Command 50, Rockfish
Valley Fire/Rescue Ambulance 56/54 of Nelson Co. Chief D.B. Sandridge was
incident the commander.
