Good Evening,

This is District Chief Roy Winston reporting on a two-alarm fire in Over the Rhine. The fire occurred at 1533 Race Street. At 06:30 p.m., fire companies were dispatched for fire showing on the third and fourth floors of the four- story, eight-unit multi-dwelling.

Upon arrival, heavy fire was observed on the third floor of the structure. First arriving fire companies made an aggressive interior attack on the fire. The fire was extinguished and a primary search of the building was performed. All occupants of the building had escaped the fire. This was due to being alerted by a smoke detector and residents alerting their neighbors.

One resident of the building was transported to the hospital experiencing chest pains after exiting the building. No other individuals, civilians or firefighters, were injuried at this incident.

The Cincinnati Fire Division's Investigative Unit is investigating the fire. The loss is estimated at $35,000.

Good morning,

This is District Chief Gary Scott reporting on a one-alarm fire which occurred on 11/12/99 at approximately 10:15 a.m. Fire companies were dispatched to a report of a building fire at 3079 Colerain Ave.

Upon arrival, fire personnel confirmed a working fire in a three-story, brick multi-dwelling with fire showing from the attic area. An aggressive interior attack was initiated on the fire, along with a primary search of the building. The roof area of the structure was ventilated. The fire was quickly brought under control. The primary search confirmed all occupants were out of the building.

There were no injuries to occupants or fire personnel. The Red Cross responded to assist the displaced occupants.

A fire investigator was called to the scene to assist in the determining the cause of the fire. At this time, the cause is still undetermined. Loss was estimated at $25,000. There were 26 fire personnel utilized at this incident. They were on the scene for approximately one hour, 30 minutes.
