On Sunday, November 14, at approximately 2000 hrs, the Citizens' Volunteer Fire Company of Fawn Grove responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with rollover and entrapment. First arriving units discovered a single vehicle had left the roadway becoming airborne. The vehicle subsequently impacted a large tree approximately 10 feet off of the ground, finally coming to rest on its roof. The lone occupant was found lying in the open space normally occupied by the driver's door window glass. The driver's side of the vehicle was severely deformed, leaving him trapped in the vehicle from the waist down. Crews stabilized the vehicle and with assistance from Heavy Rescue 57 (Delta-Cardiff Vol. Fire Co.), and using various hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric powered tools, were able to free the victim from the wreckage. The victim was transported to the hospital via Life Lion helicopter (from Hershey Medical Center).
