Has anyone come across a fox lock during
forcible entry> If so can you please explain
what this lock is and if you know where I can
get a picture of one.

The Fox lock is a brace type lock that uses a bar from the center of the door to the floor. Big in NY and other large cities. There is a picture in IFSTA's forcible entry book. Try posting on one of the FDNY BB for further info. NYFD.com or dragonslayers.com. (fyi-mail sent ot your adress was returned)

check out the forcible entry video from fire engineering narrated by Tom Breenan called Special Locking Devices, if memory serves me right it has some info on them in there.
