11-20-99 @ 12:52hrs., Station 26 (Perkasie),and Station 23 (Dublin) were dispatched to 1534 W. Rock Rd. in East Rockhill Twp. for a brush fire. Rescue 26 first to respond recieved a report from communications that leaves were on fire in the front yard of the above address. Deputy 26 was the first officer to arrive and reported approxamatly 1 acre in the front yard on fire. Single family dwelling was the only exposue to the fire, located about 25' away. R-26 arrived first and attacked fire with 1-1 3/4 hand line. Field 23 arrived and took the perimiter of the fire. Chief 26 requested an additional field truck and tanker to respond at 12:57hrs. This brought Tanker 23 (Dublin) and Field 27 (Sellersville) to the scene. Fire placed under contol at 13:15 hrs. Incident was caused when homeowner was mulching leaves with a lawnmower, the blades caught a stone and sparked the leaves in the front yard. Units cleared the scene at 13:30hrs.
