At 1857hrs on Sunday December 26,1999,units
from Station 1 and Station 3(Kent County)were
alerted for a building fire at 41 George St.
Dispatch received numerous calls and advised
responding apparatus that it was "believed to
be a working alarm". Chief 181 arrived on scene and confirmed a 1-1/2 story attached
garage fully involved with exposure to the
house.E-32 arrived next,dropped a supply line
on George Street before setting up at side A.
E-32 placed 2 attack lines in service.Upon
arrival E-114 dropped a 5' supply line at E-32 and proceeded down George Street to set up a draft at a nearby boat ramp.Tanker-3 set
up a temporary supply to E-32,while a draft
supply was established. Firefighters advanced a line through the front door on side A and began checking for extension. Horizontal ventilation was performed concurrently.The
2nd line began knocking down the heavy fire
on side A of the garage.E-115 set up at side
D on Sassafras Street and placed 1 attack line in service at the side C doorway into
the garage.Tanker 122 supplied E-115. Firefighters from E-115 and E-32 made an
aggressive attack on the garage and knocked
the fire down quickly.Interior crews made a good stop,resulting with minor smoke and
water damage to the rest of the dwelling.181

operated at the fire scene.
