HIGH RISE FIRE

Philadelphia Firefighters responded to back to back high rise fires in Center
City Philadelphia. The first one occurred at 19th & John F. Kennedy Blvd. and was held to a full box alarm. The second incident happened at 1702 hours and
resulted in 2 Alarms being struck immediately. A fire erupted on the roof of a
32 story office building, when a cooling tower caught fire. There were 1500
workers in the building who were evacuated, and there were no reported injuries. As of this writing the Fire Marshall was investigating the cause as careless
smoking by workers earlier in the day.

1702 Hours- Box-3116- 1628 John F. Kennedy Blvd.
Fire reported at 1700 Market St.
E-44, Pipeline-28, E-1, E-13, L-23, L-11, L-1, B-4, B-3, Rescue-1 (Note- some companies were a few blocks away on the earlier high rise fire, so these companies are not the normal 1st due in companies.)

1705 Hours- L-16 dispatched as lobby control.

1708 Hours- B-1-arrives on location

1711 Hours- Medic -1 and Air Unit 1 are dispatched.

1716 Hours-The Mira Box is struck
Pipeline-20, E-11, B-3, Medic-35, L-14, ES-4, FM-21

1721 Hours- B-1 reports he has a 30 story high rise with med. smoke showing from
the roof., fire in the penthouse area, 1-1 are going up to investigate.

1725 Hours- 2ND ALARM IS STRUCK

E-24, Squrt-43, Squrt-8, Pipeline-34, Pipeline-3, L-9, B-11, B-7, B-8, Field
Com-1, Medic- 21

1730 Hours- Medic-7 is dispatched.

1738 Hours- FIRE UNDER CONTROL
