Smoke was spotted coming from a large brick factory constructed type building about 3 a.m. this morning 2/2 in New Holland by a passing motorist. When the fire company arrived there was heavy fire through the roof. The building was in the process of being converted into 56 apartments.The building was unoccupied,there were no injuries reported from the firefighters. No estimate of damage was available, the cause is believed to be sparks from welding, the damage was severe. More than 100 volunteer firefighters from 9 departments worked for 4.5 hours to bring the fire under control in freezing temperatures.
