    Exclamation General Alarm Fire/ Easton PA

    The City of Easton, PA 2/26/00 fought a general alarm fire yesterday in the downtown section of the city. Intial on-duty crews found heavy fire in a mixed occupancy structure (bar/apartments) shortly after arrival there was partial collapse of the floors. All off duty firefighters were recalled to duty. Also mutual aid was requested from Wilson Boro Fire Department, Palmer Township, Phillipsburg NJ, along with air cascade units from Phillipsburg, and Lopatcong NJ. It took firefighters 4 hours to bring the blaze under control. Damaging 5 buildings. Units still remain on the scene to douse hotspots. There were no serious injuries, fire service or civillian.
