Once again a suspicious fire has struck 42 Auburn Street, a 3 story multiple dwelling, partially occupied. A fire on the number two floor at 0734 hrs. was quickly extinguished by responding units Engines 5, 4, 1, and 8, Ladders 1 and 3, Squad 1 and Battalion 2 and Deputy 1. The first alarm companies held the fire two a single alarm, as arriving companies were met with a heavy smoke conditin on the interior of the building.
Incoming units quickly attacked the fire preventing any spread to the upper floor.
The fire was called under control in about 40 minutes.
