Village of Mamaroneck Responds to Working Structure Fire
March 25, 2000 -- E-38, E-40, E-41, E-42, L-20 and L-21 responded to a reported smoke coming from a Commercial Strip Mall, located at 1210 W. Boston Post Road in the Village of Mamaroneck. Upon arrival Car 2241 reported heavy smoke and fire showing through the front of the building. E-40 and E-42 both established water supply, E-40 placed 1 attack line into operation at the rear of the building, and E-42 placed 2 attack lines in service through the front of the building. L-20 crews immediately began horizontal ventilation of the building. L-21 crews immediately began ventilation of the roof finding no visible extension. E-38 and E-41 were called to the incident for additional man power. Car 2241 requested E-61 (Port Chester) and TL-24 (Harrison) for Mutual Aid standby. Crews operated at the scene for about 2 hours.
