PATERSON, NJ
A 3 story apartment house on Oak Street had a heavy fire condition showing on the # 3 floor as first arriving companies pulled up. A report of people trapped on the third floor was reported as the first arriving Engine Co's. pulled in. Ladder Companies and the Squad worked the fire escape to gain quick access to the upper floors for the primary search, as Engine companies stretched lines to the apartment that was ablaze. A second alarm was transmitted by Deputy 1 upon his arrival as all-hands were working and the fire looked doubtful. A quick knock down of the fire prevented any spread as companies had plenty of overhaul work. Companies responding on the 1st alarm were Engines 1,6,5,3 Ladders 1 and 3 Squad 1 Battalion 1 and Deputy 1. The second alarm was Engine's 7 and 8. Combustible Division was on the scene as companies did their overhaul. Both the primary and secondary searches proved negative.
