Family Dog Lost to Fire
At approx. 1200 hours on Saturday April 15th Salisbury Station #2 and Parsonsburg (Station 6) were alerted for a house fire. The first Officer on the scene found heavy fire to the rear with heavy smoke throughout and all occupants out except for the family dog. Station #6 units began an aggresive interior attack while E210's crew opened up the roof. Interior crews made access to an attic and thought the fire was extinguished. However, Roof crews were forced into attack mode when fire quickly vented itself through the roof.
Interior crews used a Thermal Imaging Camera in a search for the dog, however when he was found under the bed it was too late. Units cleared at 1420 after extensive overhaul.
The Fire Marshall is investigating the cause.
Units on scene included E210, Squad 2, Tanker 2, Air-Light 2, E605, Tanker 604, & Utility 606.
