More fires in Sullivan Co. Pa
On 4/29/00 At approx 11:00pm
Stations 26(Picture Rocks) and 52(Muncy Valley) were dispatched to box 26-7, Strawbridge Hill Road on the Lycoming/Sullivan Co. Line for a Trailer fire, upon arrivial Chief 26 reports structure fully involved. The trailer had been totally destroyed before volunteers could get to the scene. Units responding were: Tanker 52, truck 52, Engine 52, Amb. 52| Engine 26, Engine 1-26.
At 07:30am stations 50(Laporte Boro), 53(Forks), 54(Hillsgrove), 55(Endless Winds), 57(Dushore Boro), were dispatched to Forksville, Sullivan Co. for a Chimney and partition fire in a Residential Structure. Upon arrival chief 53 reports small chimney fire, no partition fire. Station 57 was recalled.
At 09:20 am Stations 50(Laporte), 51(Eagles Mere), and 58(Ber-Mil) were dispatched to Main St. in Laporte to the Sullivan County Courthouse for an activated fire alarm. Chief 51 on scene reports nothing showing, Building was searched and no fire was found. Units returned to station.
at 10:30am Station 57(Dushore) was dispatched to assist Firefighters on the Barclay Mountain fire, that has been out of control for over 24 hours at the time of this report. Units on scene are:
Amb. 2-57| X-ray units(Sullivan Co. Forest Service), Sierra Units(Bradford Forest Service), Wellsboro forest Service, Hillsgrove and Ricketts Glen Forest Service, Airplane 180(Hazelton Air tanker base), Dept, 2 Canton, Dept 4 Herrickville, Dept 7 Monroeton, Dept 8 New Albany, Dept 11 Rome, Dept 12 Sayre, Dept 14 South Waverly, Dept 15 Towanda, Dept 20 Wyalusing, Dept 21 Wysox, Dept 22 Franklindale, Dept 24 Athens, Dept 25 North Towanda, and medics 103, and 105. (Each fire Dept Responded a Brush wagon, Manpower, Tankers, or ATV's. Red Cross was also on hand for Rehab. Fire was reported under Control at 11:08am. A fire line is being established at this time and has been contained to 50-70 acres of Barclay|Kahill Mountain.
