Jersey City known to fire buffs worldwide as the mecca of fire activity, has in recent years cooled down as far as big fires are concerned. However yesterday illustrated a day of the past as Battalion 2 (the busiest in the city at this time) had 3 workers in a span of 3hrs. The first was a working fire at 252 Danforth Ave. Fire in a 2 1/2 stry brk fire was located in the 2 flr kitchen this was a quick knock down, Next 248 Forest St. Fire was in a 2 Vacant stry frm this was a fire with potential however again this was a quick knock down, and the last was a fire that was located 10 feet away from the new quarters of Eng Co 8 fire was in a 3 stry omd with a comm est on the first flr and exposure "d" was a simular attached . Fire was on the top flr extending into exposure "d" I thought for sure this would be a 2nd alarm however Tower Ladder 4 and Trk 11 put their bucket and ariel up to prevent further spending of the fire. This was a good stop.
