PATERSON, NJ
A fire in a 2 1/2 story wood frame at 590 E. 25th Street injures (1) fire captain as companies battled the stubborn blaze. Captain Ripley and his crew were advancing a line when the railing on a stairway gave way and he fell from the stairs. He was examined and discovered a broken collarbone. Companies responindg to the blaze were Engine 3,1,6,5 Ladders 1,3 Squad 1, Battalion 2 and Deputy 1. The Combustilbles Division is investigating the blaze.
