1st Alarm PATERSON NJ
Companies were dispatched to West Broadway and Broadway for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival they found a day care center with a broken water pipe in the bathroom area. Numerous businesses on the first floor had to be shut down due to the heavy volume of water and the fallin of suspended ceilings. Battalion 3 was the incident commander and held Engine 4 and Ladder 2. Responding companies were Engines 4,7,1,8 and Ladder 2 and 1. Companies made sure all the children were safe and set up to evacuate the water. The incident was under control in less than a hour. Two establishments were closed due to the heavy water damage.
