These fires occurred in Reading over the past few days:
----061500: At 0114 hours box 76, Front & Buttonwood streets was transmitted for a dwelling fire at 460 Pear street. Companies arrived at 0117 hours to find smoke showing from the 2nd floor of a 2&1/2 story vacant M.O.R. dwelling. Companies quickly extinguished a fire on the 2nd floor with a 1&3/4-inch line, bringing the fire under control at 0134 hours. No injuries were reported and a damage estimate was unavailable. Officials have ruled the fire arson. Companies assigned:3,11,1,L1,L2,R1,Medic5 & C-2. Safety company- E5
-----061600: At 1356 hours box 6, 12th & Greenwich streets was transmitted for a dwelling fire at 1225 Greenwich street. Companies arrived at 1359 hours to find a fire involving the 1st floor rear of a 2&1/2 story M.O.R. dwelling. The fire was started by the electrical feed line to the house, which was still arcing as firefighters made an attack with a 1&3/4-inch line. After power to the residence was shut down the fire was placed under control at 1431 hours. No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $5,000. Companies assigned: E9,1,13,L3,R1,Medic1, C1,4,& 8. Safety company- E3
-----062000: At 0511 hours box 76 Front & Buttonwood streets was once again transmitted for a dwelling fire at 127 W. Buttonwood street with possible people trapped. Companies arrived at 0513 hours to find smoke showing from a 3 story M.O.R. dwelling. Companies made an attack with a 1&3/4-inch line as truck companies searched for victims. Searches proved negative & all occupants were accounted for as the fire involving the 1st floor was placed under control at 0529 hours. No injuries were reported and a damage estimate was unavailable. The cause of the fire has been listed as arson. Companies assigned: E3,11,1,L1,L2,R1,Medic6, C3 & 6. Safety company- E5
