PATERSON, NJ
A fire in a oven quickly spread to the roof at the Minardi Baking Company located at 125 Grand Street. First arriving Engine 7 reported heavy smoke in the area coming from the roof of Minardi's Bakery. Engine 7 is just a block away from the baking co. and quickly went to work. Company members encountered heavy smoke inside the processing area and found a oven fire had spread to the heavy timber rafters. Additional companies responding on the alarm were Engines 7,8,4,1 Ladders 2,1 Battalion 3 and Deputy 1, and mask service unit. The arson division is investigating the blaze. No injuries were reported and the City board of health inspector was notified.
