PATERSON, NJ
A third alarm fire in a 3 story duplex (50x75) at 516 Madison Avenue was reported at 10:46AM. Battalion 2 was the first on the scene and immediately requested a 2nd. Alarm. First alarm companies were returning from a alarm malfunction when the alarm sounded. Engine 5,1,4,6 Ladder 3 and 1 Battalion 2 and Deputy 1 arrived on the first alarm. Companies immediatly set up large master streams to battle the blaze. The 2nd Alarm had engines 3, 8 and Battalion 1. Heavy fire conditions were reported on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of the fully involved structure. On the 3rd. Alarm Engine 7 and Ladder 2 responded. Outside towns were called in to man Paterson's vacant Fire Stations during the blaze. The fire is being investigated by the departments combustible division and the Passaic County prosecutors office.
