July 23 - Kentland Firefighters remained busy this weekend with two shootings and two house fires. The first fire was a house fire in Chapel Oaks, Maryland on Thursday night. Tower 33 was dispatched on a special alarm and assisted in overhaul at 624 Opus Ave.

Friday night Mini-Pumper 33 ran two shootings within and hour of each other. The first was a double homicide in the 7200 block of Kent Town Drive. Another shooting in the 1700 block of Countrywood Court was also a homicide.
A second first due house fire was handled shortly before 10 PM. The room and contents fire at 6705 Vermont Court was quickly extinguished by the crew from Engine 331. It was determined to be caused by careless smoking. Units remained on the scene for an hour and a half performing overhaul.
